Founded in 1873, Lakeside has many venues and activities to discover, such as the historic Hotel Lakeside, the 2,500 seat Hoover Auditorium, 700-foot dock, Orchestra Hall Movie Theater, Victorian cottages and small shopping area with casual dining.
Lakeside is located in a premier setting on Lake Erie, half-way between Cleveland and Toledo. On your days off you will be able to visit and enjoy Put-In-Bay, Cedar Point Amusement Park, Kelleys Island, and many other local attractions.
Things to Expect While Working at Lakeside
Most jobs are from Memorial Day to about Labor Day. Some seasonal jobs begin mid-May and last into September.

- Complimentary gate pass entitling you to free admission for evening programs and use of recreational facilities
- If your job is related to your college major (culinary arts, hospitality management, law enforcement, recreation, etc.) it may qualify as an internship or co-placement. Ask your faculty.

During our 135 year history, Lakeside has been the summer home to countless young people who later blossomed into leaders in their chosen fields. The time has come to connect some of those high achievers with today’s young people who are destined to become success stories of tomorrow.
The Lakeside Leadership Academy has been established as a celebration of 135 years of Chautauqua spirit at Lakeside. The Academy serves as a junction for recognizing, mentoring and supporting past, present and future leaders who have or will contribute to the spirit of Lakeside.
Applications are being accepted for the Lakeside Leadership Academy. Successful applicants will receive a $2,000 stipend for working ten 40-hour weeks, will be provided fully paid housing during their internship and will participate in the Forum for Interns and Mentors during the Chautauqua summer season.
