Endowment GiftsIn order meet our current and future needs, we must maintain, improve and update our existing facilities and grounds.
Since its founding in 1873, Lakeside has sought to respond to its mission by making improvements to facilities and programming that will enhance The Lakeside Experience. By making a pledge to the $3,425,000 Capital Funds Campaign, you will be joining Lakeside trustees, staff, homeowners, area businesses, visitors and friends in a concerted effort to improve our facilities today, and be prepared for tomorrow's opportunities.
Lakeside initiated its Capital Campaign "Opening the Door to the Future Through a Gateway to the Past" in 2000.
The major objectives of the campaign were:
Restoration of historic Hotel Lakeside, with a renewed courtyard side and upgraded, air-conditioned suites and rooms.
A walking path that follows the Lakeside-Marblehead railroad bed past a renovated train depot and culminating in the park at Tennis-On-The-Hill.
An inviting gateway and visitors center that draws people into the grounds to enjoy the facilities and programs, complimented by decorative fencing, municipal services building and landscaping along Highway 163.
Hoover Auditorium - Lakeside's premier program venue. We concentrate many efforts on our largest program venue - Hoover Auditorium. Designed as a speaking platform, little did the planners of the time know that programs such as a magic show, the ballet, or a full symphony orchestra, would be gracing its stage.
2004 marked the 75th Anniversary of Hoover Auditorium and so it is appropriate we give this critical facility the attention it deserves. The campaign for improvement to Hoover Auditorium includes an air-conditioned and expanded stage house to provide necessary space and technology for our performers, leading to a better audience experience.
