Concert in the Park: Big Rockin' Blues Band

Pavilion West Deck

Columbus’ own Big Rockin’ Blues Band will bring their signature sound to the Pavilion West Deck from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 for Lakeside Summerfest. For their concert, they will cover songs by Muddy Waters, Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones.

The Big Rockin’ Blues Band was formed in 2006 by lead singer Mike Weinstock, who also plays guitar and the harmonica.

He is joined by seven musicians, including Chad Greenwald (bass and vocals), Jenny Morgan (guitar and vocals), Daryl ‘Tutu’ Jumper (drums), Dean Russ (percussion), George Schumann (lead guitar), Mark Scurci (keyboard) and Steve Shapiro (harp, guitar and vocals).

The band has headlined the Bexley July 4th Celebration in 2008 and 2009 and has made five separate appearances at the Ohio Governor’s Mansion.

Weinstock has produced four albums, including Two Missionaries and a Frog, Busking in the Third World, Ramblin’ Shows and Freight Yard Blues and Off the Streets and into the Studio.

Purchasing a Daily, Saturday or Season Chautauqua Pass includes admission into Lakeside Chautauqua and all shows in Hoover Auditorium, plus additional benefits. A separate "ticket" is not necessary to attend a Hoover show. As always, children age 12 and under and guests over age 90 are always free. Parking is an additional charge. Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes may be purchased online at or upon entering the gates of Lakeside. Please allow two weeks for online processing. There are no reserved seats for Hoover shows; seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. Present your Chautauqua Pass upon entering Hoover Auditorium.
