Symphony Pre-Concert Talk

Robert Rue will lead a Symphony Pre-Concert Talk at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 in Chautauqua Hall. Each talk gives the audience an opportunity to learn more about the evening’s Lakeside Symphony Orchestra concert music and composers.

Robert Rue holds a Master of Music in music history from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in German language from Indiana University Fort Wayne. He is currently the Vocal Music Director at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio. His main research interests are the musical style in the Baroque period, specifically in German-speaking lands and historically-informed performance in vocal music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

Purchasing a Daily, Saturday or Season Chautauqua Pass includes admission into Lakeside Chautauqua and all shows in Hoover Auditorium, plus additional benefits. A separate "ticket" is not necessary to attend a Hoover show. As always, children age 12 and under and guests over age 90 are always free. Parking is an additional charge. Chautauqua Passes and Auto Passes may be purchased online at or upon entering the gates of Lakeside. Please allow two weeks for online processing. There are no reserved seats for Hoover shows; seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. Present your Chautauqua Pass upon entering Hoover Auditorium.
