Director Christopher Nolan brings a harrowing story of survival to the screen that is based on historical events.

This film features stars Fionn Whitehead, Damien Bonnard, Aneurin Barnard and more.

In May 1940, Germany advanced into France and trapped Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk.

The only way out is via sea, and the Germans have air superiority, bombing the British soldiers and ships without much opposition.

The situation looks dire and, in desperation, Britain sends civilian boats to try to evacuate the forces.

At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated. (106 mins)
