Farmers' Market

Farmer's Market

Pedestrian Walkway (Walnut Avenue, Business District)

September 3, 2010
9 am - 12 pm

In a continued effort to promote health and wellness, Lakeside will host a twice-weekly Farmers’ Market during the season. From 9 a.m.-noon every Tuesday and Friday, farmers’ market vendors will sell fresh produce, flowers, honey, herbs, teas, jams and homemade baked goods on the pedestrian walkway between Second and Third Streets on Walnut Avenue.

There will be seven vendors on Tuesdays and five on Fridays.  All are returning favorites, including DeChant Farms, DTF Enterprises, Heywood Gardens, Kelly’s Homemade Jams, My Mother’s Market, Riehm Farms and TNT Farms.

The items sold at the Farmer’s Market are grown within a 50-mile radius; this provides Lakeside residents and guests the opportunity to purchase regionally produced goods contributing to the growth of the local economy.  Research studies have shown that fresh produces purchased directly from local vendors rather than large supermarkets does more for the overall health of the human body.

Reusable Farmers’ Market bags are available for purchase at the Lakeside Association Office for $3.

A free 90-minute shopping/dining gate pass is available during the gated season.  The pass must be stamped by a Farmers’ Market vendor or a Lakeside Association Office employee in order to exit Lakeside.
