Lakeside Parking & Shuttle Information
South Gate Parking Lot
Parking is limited on the grounds of Lakeside; therefore, to assure your vehicle has a parking space, guests are asked to park in the South Gate Parking Lot (off State Route 163) and use the shuttle service to visit the downtown business district. Ample space is available at the South Gate Parking Lot and requires an auto pass during the Chautauqua summer season ($7.75/daily, $54.25/week, or $135/season - before May 31,2012, or $155/season - after May 31, 2012). Lakeside Grounds Parking
Parking is limited on the grounds of Lakeside, and requires an auto pass during the Chautauqua summer season ($7.75/daily, $54.25/week, or $135/season - before May 31,2012, or $155/season - after May 31, 2012). There are small parking lots located throughout Lakeside: two lots are located near the downtown business district, one located north of Bradley Temple at Cedar Avenue and Third Street and one south of Hoover Auditorium at Central Avenue and Fourth Street.
Limited parking is available for Hotel Lakeside and Fountain Inn guests; therefore, it is recommended that guests unload belongings then park at the South Gate Parking Lot and use the shuttle service. While most cottages have space for at least one vehicle, many do not have driveways or have only street parking available.
Free Parking
Three-Hour Parking
Three-hour (free) parking is available outside the Fifth Street Gate.
Danbury Local School Parking Lot
Limited (free) parking is also available at Danbury Local School during the Chautauqua summer season. However, Lakeside will not provide transportation to and from the Danbury Local School lot; it is the responsibility of the guest.
Shuttle Service
Shuttle Route
Lakeside provides a free shuttle service to all Lakeside guests. We have golf cart shuttles and a handicap accessible bus to transport guests. The shuttles run a continuous route from South Gate Parking Lot, to Hotel Lakeside and the Fountain Inn, to Hoover Auditorium, and back to the South Gate Parking Lot. There is no need to call for a shuttle, simply go to one of the stops and catch a shuttle as it makes its rounds.
Mack Mobile
The Mack Mobile provides free shuttle service to those that need mobile assistance. The Mack Mobile golf cart is available by phone - check the Lakesider newspaper for contact information.
Service Hours
Shuttle service will be provided during Memorial Day Weekend beginning at 5 pm on Friday through 5 pm on Monday. Shuttle service will begin for annual East/West Ohio Conferences and the Chautauqua summer season on Monday, June 10 at 5 pm. Daily hours for shuttle service are 7 am - 11 pm. Free shuttle service will end at 5 pm on Labor Day.
