In addition to presenting the sermon at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Hoover Community Worship Service, each preacher leads the Faith for Living Hour from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Monday-Thursday. A Faith for Living Hour Pass may be obtained, free-of-charge, between 8:30-9:15 a.m. Monday-Thursday, valid until 1:30 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto. Sunset Vespers by the Lake, held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on the West Pavilion Deck and Vespers by the Lake, held at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday on the Pavilion East Deck, offers an end of the day worship experience. The Preacher of the Week provides the message on Tuesday, while Thursday features a reflection on the Psalms and the Eucharist is celebrated. Every Wednesday during the summer, all are welcome to gather in Perry Park for fellowship, games and an evening picnic. The picnic includes hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, watermelon and lemonade. There is no charge, but a $4 donation is suggested to offset the cost. Bring your own reusable tableware and a blanket.
Led by the Richter family, God Squad sessions include songs, crafts and lessons for children. Classes meet Tuesday-Thursday during the summer. Sessions are split into two age groups, ages 4-6 from 9-9:45 a.m. and ages 7-9 from 10-10:45 a.m. Classes are developed specifically for each age group to promote enjoyment and learning that is age appropriate. Please help your child find the right class for their age group. Children under age 4 must be accompanied by an adult.
Middle Grade Madness (MGM), under the leadership of Bonnie and John Wilkie, is a time for middle school youth, ages 10-14, to enjoy fellowship, fun and activity-based learning. MGM meets from 10-11:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday in the Upper Room (above World Next Door on Second Street).
Teen Ministry hosts evening discussion groups, recreational events and teen-themed nights throughout the summer. Look for a complete listing of activities in the weekly Lakesider newspaper, as times and locations vary from week to week depending on the activities scheduled.
College Station welcomes college-age students for weekly dinners and fellowship.
