Live Entertainment
Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes more than 70 live performances each summer in historic Hoover Auditorium, including chart-topping artists, professional dancers, symphony musicians, magicians, comedians and other family entertainment. You are invited to take a seat, and explore the world through the diverse cultural arts performances at Lakeside.
Lakeside Symphony Orchestra
From classical music to outstanding soloists, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra fills the auditorium with amazing rhythm in eight summer concerts. The symphony is made up of professional musicians from across the country that gather in our Chautauqua community to perform great music in the purest form.
Classes in the Arts
The C. Kirk Rhein, Jr., Center for the Living Arts provides a variety of classes in the arts for the entire family. From a child's first painting experience on an easel to jewelry making or sculpting, guests young and old will experience the flow of imagination, creativity and expression throughout each class.
Exhibits & Special Events
Exhibits and special events add a unique dimension to the Lakeside Chautauqua experience each summer. Take in an original artwork or photography exhibit displayed in Hoover Auditorium, or view classic wooden boats and antique cars along the waterfront. Annual events, such as Light Up Lakeside and the Friends of Hotel Lakeside Ice Cream Social, are unique traditions to our Chautauqua community.
Movies
Lakeside provides engaging cinema and a broad choice of films through fun-filled movie nights at our very own movie theater. In historic Orchestra Hall, families are welcomed to an intimate theater setting. Films shown throughout the summer bring laughter, tears and joy to multiple generations.
Family & Youth Programs
Lakeside Chautauqua provides many opportunities for your family to reconnect on your summer vacation to the lake. Experience a fine arts class together, watch a puppet show in Bradley Temple, take in a Lakeside Symphony Orchestra concert or walk to Central Park every Sunday evening to listen to a live concert.
