2:30pm-4:00pm
Central Park Basketball Court & Steele Memorial Bandstand/Gazebo (map)

This exciting event for Lakesiders and their pets will take place from 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday, July 1. The parade will begin at the Central Park basketball court, pass by the shuffleboard courts, cross the bridge, walk along Second Street and Kenton Row, and end at the Steele Memorial Bandstand/Gazebo.

From there, Lakeside’s finest will perform their favorite tricks and show off their fanciest costumes. Awards will be given to:

  • Biggest Pet
  • Smallest Pet
  • Best Lakeside Spirit
  • Bushiest Tail
  • Fluffiest Pet
  • Cutest Collar/Harness/Restraint
  • Best Trick
  • Judges' Choice

Serving as this year’s grand marshal will be Lucy, a spaniel therapy dog escorted by Jody Geyer. Lucy and Jody enjoy spending their time visiting residents at Otterbein North Shore Senior Lifestyle Community, as well as visiting the Marblehead Library.

The Humane Society of Ottawa County and Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary will both be participating in the parade this year. The Humane Society will be available for questions in regards to how you can adopt a pet or support the local shelter. Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary President, Dee Dee Kramer, will be joining us along with her service dog.

Please be aware that some pets may not enjoy this type of setting, so with a pet or not, you may still come and enjoy the parade.
