Lakeside welcomes the return of Chipper Lowell in “The Chipper Experience! Where Comedy & Magic Collide” as part of our new Family Entertainment Series. These special shows, held on select Wednesday nights throughout the summer, are geared especially toward families and begin at 7:30 p.m.

Lowell, an award-winning comedian and magician, has been described as an “artistic cyclone of talent and comedy.” He’s known for doling out witty remarks, presenting bizarre feats of original magic, ad-libbing with audience members and creating shows of high-energy laughs and amazement.

For more than 20 years, Lowell has been bringing his odd brand of infectious mayhem to audiences across the U.S. Canada, Mexico, England, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.

As a boy, Lowell was born and raised on traveling circuses with his show business parents. His father was a professional clown with the Ringling Bros., and his mother performed as an aerialist working high above the crowds.

By age 17, he was creating his own shows, parodying many of the variety arts he grew up with, while also creating eye-catching magic routines.

His improv training came from the critically-acclaimed Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles – the popular improv venue that brought us Will Ferrell, Kristin Wigg and many more "Saturday Night Live" alumni.

In time, he began appearing in theatrical shows and headlining in casinos towns. Along the way, he has received awards, such as Comedy Magician of the Year, Specialty Act of the Year, Stage Magician of the Year, and he was twice listed among the Top Funniest Magicians Performing Today by MAGIC Magazine.

Lowell has made appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “General Hospital” and “American’s Funniest People,” and has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Dana Carvey, Sarah Silverman, Dev Patel and Michael Bolton.

He performs at several charity and fundraising events each year, with special focus on Autism awareness and promoting financial support to families dealing with autism. In 2015, he was asked to speak about his experience of raising a child who was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at age 3.
