The Sanyuka Children’s Choir brings authentic African sounds of praise and worship to this week’s Family Night in the Park.

Sanyuka Children’s Ministries, which means “be joyful” in the Luganda language, is an organization that started when Executive Director Allan Kizito noticed two orphaned children lingering near his home church in Kampala, Uganda in 2008. Kizito responded by recruiting volunteers to join him in caring for orphaned children.

Sanyuka’s mission is to exercise the love of Jesus Christ and change lives in Uganda by giving the most vulnerable children a family, a home and a self-sustaining education.

The Sanyuka Children’s Choir is one of the many ways in which the organization provides opportunity and education for the children. Through this choir, the children have the chance to tell their stories of transformation while also serving as ambassadors for the many children who are in need. The choir members will also lead the music at Sunday's Hoover Community Worship Service and explore Lakeside throughout the day.
