Wm. Paul Young

 Tuesday, June 25, 2019

Hoover Auditorium

Lakeside welcomes Wm. Paul Young, author of the worldwide bestsellers, The Shack, Cross Roads and Eve. He will share insights on his life and his writings with Lakesiders in a Q&A format. His books will be available for purchase at The Fine Print bookstore, and a book signing will follow the evening lecture.

“I have always been a writer, whether songs, poetry, short stories or newsletters; never for public consumption but for friends and family,” says Young. “The Shack was a story written for my six children, with no thought or intention to publish.”

With nearly 23 million copies sold and 49 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list, The Shack has spurred conversations about God around the world and inspired the feature film of the same name, starring Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer and Tim McGraw.

“The Shack will tell you much more about me than a few facts ever could,” says Young. “In some ways, my life is partly revealed in both characters – Willie and Mack. But an author is always more.” Learn more about Young’s bigger, personal story at this lecture.
