Brian Regan has distinguished himself as one of the premier comedians in the country. With the perfect balance of sophisticated writing and physicality, he fills theaters nationwide with fans that span generations.

Vanity Fair has called him “the funniest stand-up alive,” and Entertainment Weekly has heralded him as “your favorite comedian’s favorite comedian.”

It’s the quality of Regan’s material, relatable to a wide audience and revered by his peers, which continues to grow his fan base.

The comedian can turn the most mundane situations – like going to the eye doctor, getting fitted for glasses or trying to decide how many Fig Newtons to eat in one sitting – into side-splitting stand-up material.

While attending Heidelberg College in Ohio, with plans of becoming an accountant, Regan’s football coach encouraged him to pursue theater and communications. During his last semester in 1980, Regan dropped out to pursue stand-up comedy (he eventually finished his degree in 1997).

He made his first appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” in 1995 and solidified his place on late night TV by making 28 appearances before Letterman’s retirement. He now makes appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

Regan released his first CD, Brian Regan Live, in 1997. Seven years later, he debuted a DVD of his Irvine Improv performance, titled Brian Regan: I Walked the Moon, and was a featured comedian in Comedy Central’s animated stand-up series, “Shorties Watchin’ Shorties.”

He signed a deal with Comedy Central in 2007 to star in two stand-up specials, develop a show for the network and headline a theater tour, “Brian Regan in Concert: A Comedy Central Live Event.”

He later appeared in the first season of Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” in the episode “A Monkey and a Lava Lamp” and returned in 2018 for the “Are there Left-Handed Spoons?” episode.

In 2017, Regan released his first Netflix special, “Brian Regan: Nunchucks and Flamethrowers.” In this special, he takes relatable family humor to new heights as he talks board games, underwear elastic and looking for hot dogs in all the wrong places.

The following year, his Netflix series, “Brian Regan: Stand Up and Away!” premiered. The popular series is a mix of his classic stand-up style, sketches and audience interaction.

Regan will make his Lakeside debut this weekend, guaranteed to deliver nonstop laughs. Before he takes the stage of Hoover Auditorium, the show will open with comedian Steven Rogers.

Rogers is a New York City comedian who has been making people laugh for most of his life. He made his national TV debut in 2019 on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and has a popular anxiety-themed podcast with Andrew Schiavone called “Panic Attacking.”

Rogers’ comedic ability has established him as a feature act at comedy clubs and also a regular opener for Regan. His clever rapid-fire material, full of observations about his life and the world around him, has entertained audiences from coast to coast.
