'Building Doctor Clinic' Seminar

 Thursday, June 20, 2019
7:00pm-9:00pm
Wellness Center, Drackett Hall

This seminar, held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 20 in the Wellness Center, is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.

Led by the State Historic Preservation Office, the 'Building Doctor Clinic' seminar teaches old-building owners how to recognize and solve some of the most common problems in maintaining older buildings, and how to make informed decisions about repairs and improvements.

The day after the seminar, the Building Doctors will make their rounds to ailing buildings within five miles of Lakeside to examine problems and prescribe cures.

These consultations are free, however, they're limited and you must ask for an appointment with the Building Doctor when you register for the seminar in advance. Attendance at the free seminar on Thursday evening is required to qualify for a Building Doctor visit on Friday.

The Building Doctors visit all types of pre-1955 buildings: schools, churches, factories, stores, offices, farm buildings and homes. Those selected to receive an appointment will be contacted in advance of the visit to set up an appointment time.

To register for the free seminar and request an appointment, contact the State Historic Preservation Office at (800) 499-2470 or visit www.lakesideohio.com/buildingdoctor. Building Doctor appointment requests must be be made at the time of registration.

This seminar is coordinated by the Lakeside Chautauqua Education Department and the Lakeside Chautauqua Historic Preservation & Design Review Board, and supported by the Vearl Smith Historic Preservation Endowment. For questions, email education@lakesideohio.com.
