Orchestra Hall

Cleveland attorney, James Robenalt, will review the events of July 23, 1968, when black nationalists engaged in a shootout with Cleveland Police, which became the bloodiest day in Cleveland history, based on his newest book, Ballots & Bullets: Black Power Politics and Urban Guerilla Warfare in 1968 Cleveland.

A book signing will follow the program, and books will be for sale at the event.

Robenalt is a partner and former chair of the Business Litigation Group at Thompson Hine LLP’s Cleveland office. He focuses on legal issues related to construction, professional malpractice and tax. He has won big verdicts for clients including Avery Dennison and Solvay Pharmaceuticals and was named one of America's leading lawyers by Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers.

Robenalt is also the author of three non-fiction books dealing with the American presidency: Linking Rings, William W. Durbin, the Magic and Mystery of America; The Harding Affair: Love and Espionage During the Great War; and January 1973, Watergate, Roe v. Wade, Vietnam, and the Month that Changed America Forever.
