Plein Air Art Festival

The Plein Air Art Festival begins Friday, July 17 when plein air artists set up easels across the grounds to paint outdoor landscapes. All are welcome to watch them paint throughout the weekend. Please maintain safe social distancing from the artists.

Plein air activities continue through Sunday, July 19 during the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show. The artists will showcase their talents at the Plein Air Paintout in Bettinger Park until 12 p.m.

Artwork created over the weekend will be available for purchase at the Wet Paint Sale at 1 p.m. south of the Pavilion.


Safety Protcols

Below is safety information regarding upcoming events such as the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show and the Plein Air Art Festival. View our latest COVID-19 update.

  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing from all artists
  • Masks are required at the Wet Paint Sale and sales area.
  • Booths will be further apart this year to accommodate social distancing. Only one customer in booths/display area at a time.
  • Artists will perform daily health self-assessments and temperature checks.
  • In the case of inclement weather, the Wet Paint Sale will be cancelled.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the show.

Artist Registration

Plein Air artists are welcome to participate in the festival at no cost. Each artist will receive two Chautauqua Passes and one Auto Pass per day for access to the grounds. For questions, contact programming@lakesideohio.com or (419) 798-4461, ext. 347.
