The "Nearly World-Famous" DuffleBag Theatre brings the classic story of “Peter Pan” to Lakeside for Wednesday’s Family Entertainment Series.

DuffleBag Theatre has been performing internationally since 1992. As their name suggests, DuffleBag Theatre is a portable theatre company for young audiences. Everything used in their shows – from props and costumes to the set – is unpacked from a duffle bag.

The company performs adaptations of fairy tales and classic stories with a unique twist - audience members are pulled onto the stage to play the main characters and the entire audience becomes a part of the story.

Their fun, innovative repertoire includes more than 15 different shows, ranging from fairy tales (Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White and Rumpelstiltskin) and classic stories (Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers and Peter Pan) to Shakespeare adaptations (Romeo & Juliet and MacBeth) and holiday-themed shows (A Christmas Carol and ‘Twas the Night before Christmas).

The story of "Peter Pan" begins with Wendy Darling upset that she’s growing too old to stay in the nursery. Suddenly, an adventurous young boy named Peter Pan appears and whisks her away an enchanted place where she can stay young forever, called Neverland.

Wendy is then catapulted into an adventure filled with magic pixies, charming pirates and talking trees. As Peter Pan battles Captain Hook in DuffleBag Theatre’s fun version of J.M. Barrie’s beloved classic, even grownups will feel like kids again.
