A Merry Little Lakeside Christmas

 Saturday, December 5, 2020

Twenty-twenty has provided us with many opportunities to reimagine our traditions. The holidays at Lakeside will look a little different this year, but Lakeside is open and ready to welcome you and yours for a Merry Little Lakeside Christmas. Our community and staff have come together to provide opportunities both on campus and virtually throughout the month of December to share the beauty and heart of Lakeside at Christmastime.

We invite you to Lakeside to experience the magical Christmas displays and shop in our beautiful downtown district. Enjoy lunch or dinner, an over-the-top Christmas milkshake or a build-your-own s'mores kit at the Slack House Historic Cafe. On December 5, 12 & 19, roast s'mores at fire pits on Walnut while enjoying Christmas music piped into the street and stroll through our Winter Storybook Trail or Elf Scavenger Hunt with your family - all activities designed to allow for social distancing outdoors while enjoying the charm of Lakeside.

On December 5, be sure to visit our neighbor Marblehead merchants and their "Village Lights" festivities highlighting peninsula shops and restaurants. Visit the Marblehead Merchant Facebook page for more information.

Saturday, Dec. 5, 12 & 19
Fire Pits on Walnut Ave., Hot Chocolate, S'Mores & More

4-7 p.m., Walnut Ave & Slack House

The Slack House will be offering hot chocolate, make-your-own s'mores kits, and roasted chestnuts for purchase from 4-7 p.m. Guests are invited to roast s'mores and warm-up around fire pits located on Walnut Avenue in front of the Slack House and shop in our downtown district while practicing safe social distancing.

Winter Storybook Trail

Bettinger Park, All ages

Celebrate the season with The Fine Print bookstore and walk through a Winter Storybook Trail in the park. Designed so families and guests can take part independently and at their own pace, the walk begins on Second Street by Bettinger Park bridge. Follow the path stations posted along the way featuring pages from the holiday classic, Finding Christmas by Lezlie Evans.

Check back for detailed instructions!

This event will be available throughout December starting on Dec. 5.

Bradley the Elf Scavenger Hunt

The Lakeside Business District, All ages

Gather your friends and family to solve clues that will lead you throughout the Lakeside Business District to find Bradley the Elf’s favorite places to play during the winter.

Download the attached PDF for the clues or stop by our administration office located at 236 Walnut beginning Dec. 5 to pick up a printed copy. Be sure to take photos along the way and, once completed, stop at Miss Mercedes at 203 W. Second Street to show your completed hunt and take home a special surprise (while supplies last)!

This event will be available throughout December starting on Dec. 5.
