Evening Music: Colin Davin

 Wednesday, July 29, 2020
7:30pm-9:00pm
Steele Memorial Bandstand

Although the beloved Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) season has been postponed until 2021, classical music will be heard from the Steele Memorial Bandstand this summer. The LSO Chamber Music Series will feature four concerts at 7:30 p.m. between July 29 and August 7.

On Wednesday, July 29, Colin Davin returns for a solo classical guitar concert. Davin has emerged as one of today’s most dynamic young artists. He’s been hailed as “the real thing, a player with a virtuoso’s technique, a deeply expressive musicianship, and a probing imagination” by American Record Guide, and was lauded for his “precision, musical intelligence and passion” by Cleveland Classical.

Lakesiders may recognize Davin from his guitar solo with the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra last summer.

Davin has premiered dozens of new works and currently runs the Century Guitar Project, an initiative that seeks to commission 100 new works for guitar.

He holds a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California and underwent preparatory studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

While some seating is provided in Bettinger Park, guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets, wear masks and practice safe social distancing. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.
