Get Growing: "Not Your Grandma’s Gladiolus" Christine Michael

 Thursday, August 19, 2021
1:30pm-2:30pm
Train Station Meeting Room

Gladiolus varieties are very different from those your grandmother raised. Plant them the correct way, enjoy the blooms and dig and store them for next year’s treasures. Christine Michael will start with classifications and look at the wide range of size and colors available today, then finish with examples of gladiolus floral designs.

Christine Michael is an experienced gladiolus grower, flower designer and judge. She is the secretary for the Northwestern Ohio Gladiolus Society, a member of the North American Gladiolus Council, the Whispering Meadows Garden Club, the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs and a Sandusky/ Ottawa County Master Gardener. She enjoys exhibiting at flower shows where she meets the friendliest people. In her spare time, she is a math tutor at Terra State Community College and assists her husband at Prairie Flowers, both located in Fremont.

You are invited to the Northwestern Ohio Gladiolus Society’s Lakeside Gladiolus Show on Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22 to view locally grown beauties. Check the calendar of events for details.
