The Focus for the Week is on The Book of Acts: Participating in God’s Mission. God has a mission, and God’s mission has a church. In Scripture, we encounter the Triune God working to restore and renew all things. The Bible begins with creation and ends with the promise of a new creation. The Triune God is working to renew everyone and everything and invites us to participate.

On Sunday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. Bishop Daniel will be preaching at the Chautauqua Community Worship Service, which will be held at the Steele Memorial Bandstand in Bettinger Park. His sermon title is, “You Will Be My Witnesses…” These are the words and the mission the crucified and risen Jesus shared with his followers right before his ascension. Bishop Daniel invites you to read the Book of Acts 1:1-11 prior to worship.

On Monday – Friday from 9-10:00 a.m. Bishop Daniel will be leading the Faith for the Living Hour moments at the Steele Memorial Bandstand in Bettinger Park. Come, listen, learn, and discuss how the Holy Spirit, Peter, Stephen, and Paul participated in God’s mission. At the end of our time together, we will dream of ways that we too might participate in the work God is doing to renew all things.

On Monday – Thursday from 10-11:00 a.m. Bishop Daniel will be leading a time of Bible Reflection from the Book of Acts. Some of the reflection themes include: Practicing What We Preach, Equipping Leaders, Strengthening Parishes, Nurturing New Communities, and Renewing the World. Each participant will receive a free copy of Bishop Beaudoin’s 6-session Bible Study called, “The Book of Acts: Participating in God’s Mission”.

On Tuesday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. Bishop Daniel will be preaching at the Evening Vespers Service, which will be held at the Steele Memorial Bandstand in Bettinger Park. His sermon title is, “In the Name of Jesus”. In Acts 3:6, Peter says, “I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk”. Bishop Daniel invites you to read the Book of Acts 3:1-10 prior to worship.
