Historic Preservation Seminar & Workshop: Maintenance and Energy Efficiency in Lakeside's Historic Cottages

Hear Lindsay Jones, owner of Blind Eye Restoration as she speaks on sustainability in relation to reuse and repair of materials in cottage type homes like those in Lakeside.

Jones will discuss the innate energy efficiency of the historic cottage designs and how to best maintain, preserve, or salvage details of greatest historic integrity. She will also discuss modern materials and maintenance practices to avoid. Lecture takes place in Orchestra Hall.

Lindsay Jones is the owner and lead conservator of Blind Eye Restoration in Columbus, Ohio, an architecture and art restoration firm focusing on the maintenance of historic structures and materials. Lindsay also consults and teaches across the country on topics related to her conservation work including wood window restoration, refinishing, masonry repointing, plaster, and metals to share her knowledge with the public in the hopes of increasing preservation awareness and encouraging more kids and women to join the restoration contracting field.
