Community Responds to Rainstorm

Posted on June 26, 2009

Lakesiders stepped in quickly to aid in the cleanup after severe thunderstorms rolled through the community on Thursday night, June 25th.   Electrical power was lost across Lakeside but was quickly restored to most of the campus around midnight.  Damage assessments began as soon as the storms subsided, and it was business as usual by 9am Friday morning.  Restaurants and shops were open and welcoming their guests, and Lakeside's Friday Farmers' Market participants were greeting shoppers by 9am as well.  Market hours are 9am - 12 noon on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the Chautauqua summer season.

The Lakeside Association staff is very grateful for all who volunteered to clean debris from walkways, paths, streets and parks throughout the community.
