Mouse Island Sailing Race

Posted on July 20, 2009

The Society of Old Salts sponsored the 14th Annual Mouse Island Race Saturday, August 1.  Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the Lakeside Sailing Center. The race will start promptly at 9 a.m.  The Mouse Island race includes single-handed Sunfish, single-handed Lasers, and double-handed Sunfish classes.  All age groups will sail together from the Sailing Center, around Mouse Island and back to Lakeside. This is often a long race depending on the wind conditions, usually lasting between two and five hours.  Novice sailors should partner with experienced sailors.  Trophies will be awarded to the first three finishers in both Sunfish classes and for first place only in the Laser class.  There is no entry free for the race.
