Lakeside announces Director of Religious Life and Church Relations

The Lakeside Association is pleased to announce it has engaged the Rev. Dr. Norman E. "Ned" Dewire as Director of Religious Life and Church Relations.               

Dr. Dewire is President Emeritus of Methodist Theological School (MTSO) in Delaware, Ohio, where he served for 20 years. He is a trustee at Ohio University, a director of the OhioHealth system and currently serves as Director of Worship and Religious Life at Bay View Association of The United Methodist Church, a sister Chautauqua located in Petoskey, Mich. 

Dr. Dewire has a B.S.Ed. from Ohio University, a M.Div. from Boston University, a D.Min. from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Ill., and a D.D. from Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. 

He will continue to serve Bay View Association during this Chautauqua season and then officially join the Lakeside Association management team by the end of 2011. His experience and enthusiasm will be evident as Lakeside continues to strengthen its spiritual focus, further enrich worship opportunities and build relationships with churches throughout the state and region. 

Dr. Dewire and his wife Shirley reside in Powell, Ohio, and will live in Lakeside during the summer season.  They have two grown daughters whose families are excited to be able to return to Lakeside for visits during the summer.

The Rev. Dr. Gary Olin and the Rev. Sally Nelson-Olin will continue to serve as Religious Life Coordinators for Lakeside's 2011 Chautauqua season. Lakeside is thankful for their continued leadership.
