Sloopy’s Bradley Corbin Wins ‘Best Pizza in the Country’

Posted on October 31, 2012

Bradley Corbin of Sloopy’s Sports Café was named America’s Best Pizza Maker at the 9th Annual American Pizza Championship (APC) in Orlando, Fla.

PMQ Pizza Magazine hosted the competition, which took place in September. In addition to the first place trophy, Corbin earned a spot on the U.S. Pizza Team and a free trip to Italy to compete in the 2013 World Pizza Championship.

Each competitor prepared two pies, one for the judges and one for the crowd. The winning pie, the Hibachi Pizza, featured Japanese white sauce, chicken, shrimp, sautéed carrots, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini and friend rice; it was finished with even more Japanese white sauce, and oyster/soy sauce and sesame seeds.

The American Pizza Championship was judged by a four-member panel. Congratulations to Bradley Corbin and Sloopy’s Sports Café.
