Lakeside UMC Offers Vacation Bible School for Children

The Lakeside United Methodist Church will offer a Vacation Bible School to children, age 5 and older, from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5-Friday, Aug. 9.

Children from the surrounding area, including those visiting Lakeside and guests and residents of Port Clinton and the Marblehead Peninsula, are welcome to attend.

The Vacation Bible School theme is “Kingdom Rock - Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” Registration forms are available at the church office, or contact (419) 798-8119 or

Complimentary Daily Chautauqua Passes will be available at the Fifth Street Gate, South Gate and East Second Street Gate.

These passes include admittance for children, adults and the car, and are valid each day of the Vacation Bible School from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Gate attendants will assist with directions to the Lakeside United Methodist Church and available parking areas, as well Lakeside activity suggestions for adults who choose to stay on the grounds while children participate in Vacation Bible School.

Vacation Bible School activities include: “Sing and Play Rock,” where children will learn a great mix of classic worship songs and new praise songs; “Epic Bible Adventures,” where children will experience a daily

Bible story in a surprising, unforgettable way; then Kingdom Crews circle up for interesting life application discussions; “Imagination Station,” where children will experiment with Sciency-Fun Gizmos™ that tumble,balance, glow and defy gravity…and cement Bible truths like never before; and “Chadder’s Royal Theater,” where Chadder Chipmunk lives out a daily Bible Point on his adventure in a castle.

The children will then dive into the Bible to explore the day’s Bible verse.

To wrap up the week, family members and friends are invited to the church sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 for a “Fanfare Finale.”

Refreshments will be served each evening.
