Lakeside Heritage Society Receives Grant from the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board

Posted on April 14, 2015

The Lakeside Heritage Society (LHS) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a 2015 grant from the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board (OHRAB).

The grant will be used to organize, catalogue and preserve issues of the Peninsular News newspapers from 1881-1969 in the LHS collection.

In addition, the grant will enhance preservation of all records through improving selected environmental concerns in the LHS Archives Center that were identified as part of an Ohio Connecting to Collections site visit in April 2014. The project is funded for the period of April-December 2015.

After the fragile original issues of the Peninsular News have been photocopied, the photocopies will be available to the public for review and research at the Archives Center.

For further information about this project, contact the LHS Archives Center at (419) 798-5519. The OHRAB is the central body for historical records planning in the State of Ohio. Their members represent Ohio’s public and private archives, records offices and research institutions.

OHRAB members are appointed by the Governor.  Administrative responsibility for the Board falls to the Ohio History Connection’s Archives/Library Division.  For more information about the OHRAB, visit
