2015 Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival

Celebrating its 20th year, the Lakeside-Marblehead Light­house Festival will be held in Lakeside and throughout the Marblehead Peninsula from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.

This free event will in­clude a variety of arts & crafts vendors, food, live entertainment and numerous community and recreational activities, such as children’s crafts, hayrides, Farmers’ Market, pumpkin-deco­rating contest, shuffleboard and miniature golf.

The pumpkin-decorating contest will feature a variety of carved, painted and deco­rated pumpkins. Entrants will receive a 2016 miniature-golf pass for submitting an already-deco­rated pumpkin.

Prizes will be awarded to Most Creative Design Over­all, Scariest Design, Best Child Design (ages 11 and under), Best Teen Design (ages 12-17), Best Paint­ed Design and Best Use of Props.

A complimentary golf cart shuttle service will be pro­vided throughout the Lake­side grounds from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Guests of the Lake­side-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival are encouraged to discover the history of the Marblehead Lighthouse. Tours of the lighthouse will be offered for $2 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Marble­head Lighthouse State Park, located at 110 Lighthouse Dr.

The Ottawa County His­torical Society will offer free tours of the Wolcott House, located at 9999 E. Bayshore Rd., from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival will take place in October. Therefore, no Chautauqua Pass fees will apply for attendees of this event.
