Assistive Listening Technology Now Available in Chautauqua & Orchestra Halls

Posted on May 09, 2018

To help ensure a quality experience for all of our guests, Lakeside Chautauqua is pleased to announce the addition of hearing loop technology in Chautauqua Hall and Orchestra Hall. Brown Audio Service of Tallmadge, Ohio will be installing the system in each venue prior to the start of the season.

The hearing loop system allows individuals to receive clear sound from the sound system directly to their hearing aid or cochlear implant.  This technology eliminates most of the reverberation and background noise that can make it difficult to hear in normal venues.

To use the hearing loop system, the telecoil (also known as a t-coil) in the hearing aids will need to be turned on. Most hearing aids have t-coils.

Contact your audiologist to learn if your hearing aids have a telecoil and how to turn them on. If your hearing aids lack a telecoil or you do not have hearing aids, but need assistance with hearing, a headset plugged into a loop receiver is available.

All of the programs held in these venues, including education lectures, Faith for Living Hours and movies will now use the hearing loop technology. Information will be available at the venues to help individuals understand more about this new technology and how to use it.
