COVID-19 Update (March 26, 2020)

Posted on March 26, 2020

Dear Lakesiders,

We know you’re going to come back to Lakeside, and as the weather warms, that time is coming sooner rather than later. Although we love seeing you, the “Stay at Home” mandate for the entire State of Ohio also applies to Lakeside.

With the nice weather today, we’ve noticed more families and individuals enjoying the grounds. However, as one Lakesider shared, “Lakeside is a safe place but not biologically immune.”

Therefore, social distancing guidelines still apply, and Lakeside’s recreational venues are not available for use.

We understand that you want to be outside and that the fresh air and sun are great for your well-being, so we still encourage you to take walks along the trail, lakefront, dock and streets, but please practice safe social distancing.

If you’re currently in Lakeside, please follow these guidelines and mandates:

1.) Take these steps, laid out by the CDC, to protect yourself and others.

2.) Lakeside is strictly following and enforcing the “Stay at Home” mandate set by Gov. Mike DeWine and our state health officials. As a reminder, to protect our guests, residents and staff, all Lakeside offices and the Fountain Inn will be closed to the public, effective until Monday, April 6 – this includes the Administration, Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation and Lakeside Chautauqua Realty (cottage rentals and home sales) Offices.

3.) We posted on March 19 that year-round common areas will remain open, however as we learn more from our government and health officials, these areas are temporarily closed during the state's "Stay at Home" mandate, effective until Monday, April 6 or longer: this includes playgrounds; basketball, sand volleyball, shuffleboard, tennis and pickleball courts; miniature golf; gaga ball; Wellness Center, etc. Even if you have your own sporting equipment, these areas are closed.

Security will be enforcing these guidelines and mandates across the grounds. For further updates, visit Lakeside's official Facebook page, e-newsletter and
