Lakeside thanks Jeanne Mauriocourt for 9 years of service

A wonderful opportunity has presented itself for Jeanne Mauriocourt, and we regretfully announce her resignation as Lakeside Chautauqua’s Director of Educational Programs. She will be working for the Ohio State University Mansfield Campus in the enrollment department, focusing on student success.

Mauriocourt started with Lakeside Chautauqua in April 2011. During her nine years of service, she has elevated the educational experience for program attendees and developed quite a following for the Chautauqua Lecture Series. In fact, the popularity and attendance for the series has grown to the point where the lectures are now presented in Orchestra Hall to accommodate a larger audience.

Mauriocourt also developed the successful ‘experiential learning’ opportunities to reach a younger audience who prefer a hands-on approach to learning. In addition, she expanded wellness programming and the afternoon lectures in the new Wellness Center.

Another notable achievement was her outreach to coordinate the scheduling of programs from Lakeside’s many organizations, including the Lakeside Heritage Society, Lakeside Women’s Club, Lakeside Environmental Stewardship Society, Lakeside Wooden Boat Society and others. Her effectiveness in this area allowed for greater promotion of all programs, and avoidance of overlapping times or themes.

In her time with Lakeside, Mauriocourt has worked on coordinating programs with other Chautauqua pillars, specifically the Religious Life and the Rhein Center for the Arts. She has written various grants to identify funding, specifically the annual Peace with Justice Week. She worked alongside Lakeside’s Master Gardener Loretta Wilken to develop the popular Get Growing! Gardening programs.

In addition, Mauriocourt developed a partnership with the OSU Stone Lab to present the Lake Erie Science youth education program. She was also instrumental in the internship program and conducted resume workshops and mentored interns across all the departments over the years.

We greatly thank Mauriocourt for her dedication, endless energy, work ethic and passion for serving Lakeside over the last nine years. We also wish her the best of luck as she moves on to the next chapter of her professional life, and look forward to welcoming the Mauriocourt family back to Lakeside for visits in the future.
