Holiday Greetings from Lakeside and wishes for the Merriest of Christmases!

It has gotten cold in Lakeside, but for me that adds to the holiday spirit. Our staff has once again done amazing work in making Walnut Plaza look like a Christmas card with lighted trees, ornaments, potted greenery, and more. It is worth a trip back to Lakeside to see the decorations and to perhaps have a warm beverage, hot soup or savory meal from Slack House or Sloopy's. If you can make it back, I invite you to stop into the administration offices to introduce yourself and share what you are most looking forward to in Lakeside this summer season.

During the coming winter months our chief operations officer, Charles Allen, and I will be working closely with our staff to organize the most memorable of Lakeside seasons. You can expect to see:

  • Three high-quality programs offered Thrusday-Saturday weekly in Hoover Auditorium in additional to programming at the Steele Memorial Bandstand on the shores of our great lake. The continuing uncertainty of COVID makes it financially risky to commit to more programming in Hoover at this time. Additional information will be released in January on specific programming.
  • Educational programs offered once daily weekday mornings. This shift away from two lectures daily will allow us to focus on securing highly engaging and informative speakers.
  • Friendly, welcoming and diverse staff in seasonal positions, the recruitment of which has already begun. Our recruitment challenge is centered on addressing the salary gap evident between Lakeside and surrounding resorts. Please click here to view graph featuring salary comparisons. Donations to the Lakeside Annual Fund help us in addressing this critical area. Your generosity will help make the 2022 season one of the best ever. To give toward this wage gap, click here.
  • The completion of work addressing six critical areas experiencing drainage issues. In addition, a contractor has been identified to begin much needed work on our streets at a reasonable cost. These types of expenditures for our infrastructure are necessary for the health and safety of Lakesiders, and they safeguard the investments of our homeowners in their properties.

Your thoughts and ideas are important to me and our team as we make plans for the future. We believe better decisions are made with the input of many people. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 614.270.1434 or by email at Your voice and your support are important to make the 2022 Lakeside summer season exceptional. All of us need the Lakeside experience now more than ever.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
