March 2020 Update

Dear Lakeside Community,

The search for the new President/Chief Executive Officer. is live and underway. The Search Committee, with significant input from the community, staff and Board of Directors, has completed the development of the Position Specification to be used for all marketing and recruiting related to the search. Thank you to the committee and our search partner, Montague & Associates, for their diligence in getting us to this place.

Our next step is to identify the pool of potential candidates for the position. We have developed a broad set of evaluation criteria that will provide focus on the desired attributes of Lakeside Chautauqua’s next President/CEO. Over the months ahead, the search firm will use these criteria to assess candidates for the role. The Search Committee will meet on April 25, 2020 with Mary Lee Montague, CEO of Montague & Associates, to review the search results to date. No times have been set for candidate interviews at this time.

We would also ask you to help us identify people who might be qualified candidates. Please share the job specification with anyone you think may be a qualified and interested candidate or possible source. Additional updates will be shared along the way. But please understand this is a process with a proven methodology and results and we must all ‘trust the process.’ Our timing on this complex search is a moving target and the Search Committee is comfortable making sure we take the necessary time to identify candidates that are well qualified and vetted.

February 2020 Update

Dear members of the Lakeside community,

The Search Committee continues its important work to recruit and select our next President/CEO. We are near finalizing the search profile to be used for all marketing and recruiting related to the search. The Lakeside Chautauqua Board of Directors has retained a professional search partner, Montague & Associates, to assist the Search Committee. We anticipate launching the search live in the marketplace during the first part of March once the due diligence process is concluded.

December 2019 Update

The Lakeside Chautauqua Board, at its quarterly meeting in November 2019, appointed a nine-member Search Committee that will launch a national search for our next President/CEO. Members of the Board and Search Committee understand that this is one of the most important things we will do during our tenure on the Board. We're committed to a thoughtful, thorough and careful process in order to find a person who will embrace Lakeside’s mission, provide leadership to both the staff and community and ensure that the best years for Lakeside are in front of us.

The Search Committee recently held its first meeting and discussed the steps toward retaining a search firm that will assist the committee in finding the right person. We’re also focusing on the development of a position profile and defining the skills and personal characteristics for our next President/CEO. At its highest level, the search process will be to match the candidate to the position profile.

We're extremely confident in the leadership of Dan Dudley, our Interim CEO, and the entire Lakeside staff to guide us through this interim period. On behalf of the Board, I wish to express gratitude to Dan and the staff for their efforts and dedication during this time of transition.
