Wellness Center

The Wellness Center is open to all Chautauqua Pass Holders during the summer gated season. From Labor Day to Memorial Day, usage of the Wellness Center Fitness Center will switch to a monthly subscription plan. All Lakeside proper­ty owners are eligible to sign up for the subscription, which includes access to the Magruder Hospital Fitness Room for ages 14 and older. In addition to Wellness Center access there are weekly fitness classes. The classes are open to the public and do not require a subscription. A $10 class fee applies to all attendees.

Fitness classes will be held every Tuesday and Saturday through September 30, 2021 at the cost of $10 per class (this is in addition to fitness center subscription fee). See below for class descriptions.

From Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 - Thurs­day, May 26, 2022, the Wellness Center will be available to use from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Those who purchase a sub­scription through the Administration Office will be granted an electronic fob that will unlock the doors to the Wellness Center during open hours. Previous subscribers who already have a fob may reactivate their membership through the Administration Office as well.

Although the Wellness Center will not be staffed, security will be on the grounds to keep the Wellness Center safe.

*A one-time $5.95 fee cov­ers the price of the electronic fob. For those who kept their fob from a previous year, no additional fee will be assessed. Tax will be added to all charges.

Pool

Lakeside's pool at the Grindley Aquatic and Wellness Center is open during the summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Baby Pool and Splash Pad are open on at the waterfront from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily in season as well.

POOL OCCUPANCY

Pool availability and occupancy is managed by capacity which is dictated by the ratio of life guards to swimmers. Entry into the pool is first-come, first-serve basis. There is no call ahead or waiting lists. For information on availability of various Open Swim times call the pool office at 419.702.7598.


SWIM LESSONS:

Lakeside will not be offering swim lessons for the 2021 summer season. Check back to see if lessons will be offered for the 2022 summer season.


CHILDREN'S SWIM TEST:

To ensure the safety of our community and in following Red Cross recommendations for pool operations, Lakeside requires children under age 12 to perform a brief swim test. This test is offered at announced times throughout the summer or during open swim times, and will be required for children to swim in the deep end of the pool. The test includes jumping into the water to fully submerge and return to the surface, swim length of pool using front crawl and return on your back keeping legs horizontal the entire time, and tread water for 30 seconds. Children that pass the swim test will have their names logged at the pool office and will receive a wrist band when they enter.

Lifeguards reserve the right to swim test anyone at their own discretion. For more information about the children's swim test, call the pool office at 419-702-7598.

Hosted by Danbury Aquatics

Schedule: 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

Swim Meets: Thursdays at various times and locations

Open to all ages. (must meet minimum swim requirement)

  • 11 and under: Must be able to swim 1 pool length (50yds) freestyle and backstroke.
  • 12-18: Must be able to swim 2 pool lengths (50 yards) freestyle and backstroke.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE POOL SCHEDULE?

You may find the daily schedule on the Lakeside webpage. Select "programs" and click on "recreation" and scroll down to the Grindley Aquatics and Wellness link. Remember, YOU MUST REFRESH your pages every time for it will not show the most updated information. You may also call the pool at 419-702-7598.

DO I NEED A RESERVATION TO USE THE POOL?

No, we are not taking reservations or holding a waitlist for the pool. It is first come, first served basis. Once we reach our pool capacity we close to further entry into the pool.

WHAT IS THE POOL CAPACITY FOR THE SUMMER?

The capacity of the pool will change daily based on the availability of lifeguards and support staff.

HOW WILL I KNOW THE CAPACITY OF THE POOL EACH DAY?

Please check the Grindley Aquatics and Wellness Center Page for pool capacity limits. *YOU MUST REFRESH your pages every time for the most up to date information. You may also call the pool at 419-702-7598 during open swim time to inquire about the current capacity of the pool.

WHY DO KIDS NEED TO DO SWIM TESTS?

Swim tests are used to determine if your child has the minimum ability required to participate or swim safely in the deep end of the pool. It also allows children and parents to know their child's swimming ability and how much assistance of supervision they require from an adult.

DO THEY HAVE TO DO A SWIM TEST EVERYTIME THEY GO TO THE POOL?

No, once a child passes the swim test, their name is logged at the pool office. They can report their name at check in and will receive a wrist band to wear for the duration of open swim. This wrist band indicated they can swim in the deep end.

WHY ARE ONLY USCG LIFE VESTS ALLOWED IN THE POOL?

USCG Certified Life Jackets are designed to preserve lives by keeping your head above the water and help you remain in position that permits proper breathing.

ARE THE BATHROOMS AND SHOWERS OPEN AT THE POOL?

Yes, the bathrooms are open and sanitized frequently. There are indoor and outdoor rinsing showers. All guests are required to leave once two-hour session expires for sanitation of the facility, therefore, please shower before your session expires.

ARE THERE NEW PROTOCOLS FOR LAP SWIM?

On days where lap swim sessions are available, standard safety protocols apply.

CAN I BOOK A POOL PARTY?

Yes, on certain evenings the pool is available to book private pool parties. Parties must follow pool protocols. Maximum attendance is 50 swimmers. For more information or to book a pool party, contact conference@lakesideohio.com or call (419) 798-4461, ext. 279.

ARE THE BABY POOL & SPLASH PARK OPEN?

The Baby Pool and Splash Park remain closed at this time due to the damage from the storm Lakeside experienced on May 28 & 29. Please check back for updates on our website.


Summer Fitness Room

The Magruder Hospital Fitness Room is open daily from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. beginning Friday, May 28-Monday, September 6.

  • As guests change fitness equipment during their workout, they are required to sanitize the equipment when finished. Wellness Center volunteers will sanitize the facility daily.
  • The Wellness Center restrooms are open to those using the fitness room. Public restrooms are available on the East side of the Pool entrance when the Wellness Center is closed.
  • Magruder Hospital Fitness Room is for age 14 and older. Maximum of 10 people.
