Off-Season Fitness Room Subscriptions

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, usage of the Wellness Center will switch to a monthly subscription plan. All Lakeside proper­ty owners are eligible to sign up for the subscription, which includes usage of the Magruder Hospital Fitness Room for age 14 and older.

Wellness and exercise classes are yet to be determined, as they’re dependent on instructor availability and community in­terest. If classes are offered, participants will pay an additional fee per class.

From Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019-Thurs­day, May 21, 2020, the Wellness Center will be available to use from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Those who purchase a sub­scription will be granted an electronic fob that will unlock the doors to the Wellness Center during open hours.

Although the Wellness Center will not be staffed, security will be on the grounds to keep the Wellness Center safe.

  • Discounted price for all 9 months: $180 (+tax)

*A one-time $5.95 (+tax) activation fee cov­ers the price of the electronic fob. For those who kept their fob from last year, there will not be an activation fee.

Fall Fitness Classes

Keep up with your workout routine and join us in Lakeside for fall fitness classes – Yoga Core, Tai Chi, All Level Yoga, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), Poundfit, Lake Effect Yoga (mix of Wellness and Broga) and Jazzercise.

Classes are $10 each, paid at the Wellness Center at the start of each class by cash or check only. Or, to participate in multiple classes and mix and match your workout routine, purchase a punch card: $45 for 5 classes, $90 for 10 classes or $150 for 15 classes at the Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office. Purchase a 15-class punch card to attend 2 extra classes of any kind for free! Pay for punch cards by credit card, cash or check.

Please note: fall fitness classes are not included in Lakeside Chautauqua’s Wellness Center Subscription fee. The subscription only includes admittance to the Magruder Hospital Fitness Room to use the workout equipment.

Participants will breathe, focus, move, stretch and use balance. Build a practice that allows you to move with your breath while building strength and working on your core.

Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. This class offers a brief introduction to the beginning movements and principles of Tai Chi. Instructor Dana Mickens has worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer for a variety of different fitness programs.

Learn proper breathing, relaxation and exercise through stretching, strengthening and balancing postures. Participants in the basic class will be introduced to a variety of yoga positions and breathing exercises. Bring a yoga mat and wear loose layered clothing. Refrain from eating one hour prior to the class. Linda Green is a Sivananda certified instructor and Holistic Health educator/practitioner. She's been teaching yoga in Lakeside and the Port Clinton area for many years.

POUNDFIT WITH KISTA RINGER-SHIMER

Designed for all fitness levels, PoundFit combines cardio, condition and strength training all while rockin’ out. Using Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, Pound transforms drumming into an effective workout.

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

This is a beginner level class for men and women to explore the benefits of linking breath and movement. Learn why yoga is good for EVERY body type, gender and age. Instructor Diane Bielecki is a graduate of the Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga and is a licensed Broga instructor.
