Faith for Living Hour

In addition to presenting the sermon at the 10:30 a.m. Chautauqua Community Worship service, each Preacher of the Week leads Faith for Living Hour from 9-10 a.m. Monday-Thursday. The preacher develops a theme aimed at helping folks grow in their spiritual lives. Following the presentation, time is allotted for dialogue with the preacher.

A Faith for Living Hour Pass may be obtained, free-of-charge, between 8:30-9 a.m. Monday-Thursday; valid until 1 p.m. The Pass must be validated at the service and will be collected at the gate upon departure. If the pass is not validated, or if the time allotted is exceeded, the guest(s) will be charged a fee upon departure. Ask a Gate Attendant for details. this pass does not allow access to the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus pool.

Services by the Lake

Sunset Praise by the Lake, held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on the Pavilion West Deck and Vespers by the Lake, held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the Steele Memorial Bandstand, offer an evening worship experience. The Preacher of the Week shares a brief homily on Tuesday, following a time of singing and prayer while Thursday Vespers are led by the Rev. Karen Graham, pastor of Lakeside United Methodist Church and includes the celebration of Holy Communion in which all may participate. (Commercially packaged Communion kits are used.) Bible Study Opportunities:

Women’s Bible Study

Mondays at 10 a.m. “Women Reading Through the Bible” held at the Green Gables (Lakeside Women’s Club) (June 7 – Sept. 3)

Fridays at 10 a.m. “Foremothers of Jesus” held at the Green Gables (Lakeside Women’s Club) (July 1 – 29)

Men’s Bible Study

Tuesdays at 8 a.m. held at the Pavilion East Deck (June 1 – August 31)

Picnic in the Park

Every Wednesday during the summer, all are welcome to gather in Perry Park for fellowship, games and an evening picnic at 5:30 p.m. The picnic includes hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, watermelon and lemonade. There is no charge, but a $5 donation is suggested to offset the cost. You may bring your own reusable tableware and a blanket.

Youth & Young Adult Programs:

God Squad

Led by the Richter family, God Squad sessions include songs, crafts and lessons for children. Classes meet Tuesday-Thursday during the summer. Sessions are split into two age groups, ages 4-6 from 9-9:45 a.m. and ages 7-9 from 10-10:45 a.m. Classes are developed specifically for each age group to promote enjoyment and learning that is age appropriate. Children under age 4 must be accompanied by an adult. God Squad headquarters is Bradley Temple. For more information, read the weekly Lakesider newspaper.

Middle Grade Madness

Middle Grade Madness (MGM), under the leadership of Bonnie and John Wilkie, is a time for middle school youth, ages 10-14, to enjoy fellowship, fun and activity-based learning. MGM meets Monday-Thursday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. MGM headquarters is Cherry Park. For more information, read the weekly Lakesider newspaper.

Teen & Young Adult Ministries

Teen Ministry hosts evening discussion groups, recreational events and teen-themed nights throughout the summer. Our Teen Ministry Leader is Bret Johnson. Look for a complete listing of activities in the weekly Lakesider newspaper.

A complimentary Church Pass may be obtained between 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday; valid until 1 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto. Passes must be validated at the church service. This pass does not allow access to Hoover Auditorium shows or the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus pool.
